    I am a removalist and have dealt with loads of storage facilities over the past 7 years and give repeat business to most of them if they are friendly and reasonably priced. As a removalist I know what to look for in a unit and what size i need. You could say we are the easiest customers storage facilities ever have to deal with, plus we give repeat business, pay upfront, and book in mostly large quantity, larger units.

    One thing i want to make VERY CLEAR to everybody is access. If you book a unit on the bottom floor (rear entrance) THE DRIVEWAY IS EXTREMELY STEEP AND TRUCKS GET BEACHED TRYING TO GET IN AND OUT. WHEN I ASKED FOR EASY ACCESS THIS IS EXACTLY NOT WHAT I REQUESTED. The manage at the facility is FULLY AWARE of this as trucks "get stuck there all the time: according to a tradie who works on the yard across the road. We got beached there 3 times, with 2 different trucks! - We had to salvage wood and other rubbish from the laneway in an effort to make the driveway more even and still just scraped out.

    When i had to pickup the goods I had no choice but to attempt it, and they wouldn't let us use their "FREE MOVE IN UTE" to take stuff up the driveway and just park the truck on the flat-level street. This would have avoided this drama altogether. They should be letting customers know this before they move in or at least offering them the ute if they absolutely have to take a unit below with the steep driveway.

    When I ring a storage unit I always ask for one that has easy access for a truck. And when I booked with Metro Canterbury they assured me the truck access was good.

    IF YOU ARE BRINGING A TRUCK OF ANY SIZE DO NOT GO TO THE BOTTOM UNITS EVEN IF THEY RECOMMEND THEM TO YOU. DEMAND A STORAGE UNIT ON CANTERBURY RD STREET LEVEL

    This also happened when we asked for him to bring the keys down as we left it with him for convenience. A 2 minute walk downstairs to give paying customers keys - you wouldn't think this was such a big deal.

    I had the misfortune of dealing with the manager (Hasan) of this facility who thinks every tiny thing he does is a massive inconvenience. He is rude, abrupt and rasies his voice at you for no reason.

    Let me give you an example - we store on behalf of our customers, and we were booked in to return some goods to them from Canterbury Metro. We picked up the items, but the customer had an emergency and we had to take the stuff back to the facility. I rung him to let him know we were coming back and he absolutely lost it. This was only 1 hour after we had picked it up. I had not signed any termination papers, so in effect the unit was still ours for approx 2 weeks. (paid up front $600 for 2x units which I only used for 2 weeks). All he had to do was press a button to open the door for us to gain access again. Such a simple thing yet he yelled at me on the phone. I asked him a simple question "Why do you have to be so rude to us, when we are perfectly polite to you?" - I mean ideally we do not want to be coming back but this was out of our control. I kept my cool the whole time and told my staff to be polite, but this guy has a really short temper and has no idea about how to treat customers.

    I never write reviews but the manager here was so incredibly rude and I don't want anybody to pay good money to have this happen to them too

    The units at this facility are good, but the management has absolutely no idea about managing customer expectations, avoiding issues and basic customer service. I would not recommend this facility to anybody. There are many other storage units in the immediate area for the same or less cost. The manager either needs to be replaced or have a massive attitude change.
